The goal of this guide is to have the student log in using their school credentials, and make sure a parent isn’t signed in by accident. Parents cannot see or complete student assignments, and many sites use the student, not parent, credentials, so it’s essential the student is signed into Schoology using their @dock.academy account.

  1. Open a new tab to www.google.com. If you (the parent) are signed into a Google account, click the profile circle, then “Sign Out.” If you’re not signed into Google and the top right says “Sign In”, please proceed to the next step.

  2. Next, make sure to log out of your parent account. To do this, go to Schoology and click on the name at the top right, then select Logout at the bottom of the drop down:

  3. Now that we’ve signed out of the parent account, it’s time to sign into Schoology as your child. To do that, navigate to dock.schoology.com, in a new tab. It should look like the image below. Note the part that says Schoology Integration. Please do not use any saved bookmarks you may have set up!

  4. Now sign in using your child’s account ending in @dock.academy.

IMPORTANT:

  1. Now you can access Schoology, TypingClub, Code.org and more, since the Google account is fully signed in.

If you end up doing a lot of switching between parent and child Google accounts, consider adding a Chrome Profile. Here is a video link of how to do that.
